A Tribute To Donna Summer: paying respect to the Queen of Disco's incredible legacy

Only two weeks ago Adam Yauch passed away. A fortnight before that we lost Levon Helm. This week cancer claimed The Queen of Disco herself Donna Summer, at the tragic age of 63. Unarguably the biggest disco artist of the 70s, in her time with us Summer achieved three consecutive US number one albums, eleven certified Gold records and three platinum as well as a whopping seventeen Grammy nominations, five of which she won. Prestigious doesn't even begin to sum it up; if you listen to a disco song, even today, regardless of whether the producer has heard of Donna Summer or not, the influence that one woman will have on it is absolutely phenomenal.
