I know, call me a radical, but I'm about to tip a woman for big things in 2013 who isn't Solange Knowles. Please, control your amazement, for here is a musical lady of the folk variety to take your breath away. Currently residing the UK, New York songstress Annie Dressner possesses the power to both astound and to charm in equal measure. With her debut album Strangers Who Knew Each Other's Names, Dressner proved exactly how intricately innocent her sound could be, using the various textures of her voice as well as the poetic lyrics to create a piece of art that has had critics singing her praises worldwide. Now embarking on a tour of the UK and with an EP, East Twenties, set for this April (which I have been lucky enough to hear already and can confirm is an absolute gem) Annie may claim "the only place is down" however in truth this is the beginning of a musical career with the potential to soar.
