Hip-hopophobes look away now; the next three days are going to be crammed with almost every urban hipster rapper in the county as Bedge Music embarks on a weekend dedicated solely to the rap music of Northampton. And, as Thursday now officially counts as part of the "pre-kend", what better way to kick things off than with a blogging crew that does pretty much just that every day anyway, and a heck of a lot better than me! Consisting of DJ/producer Braxton, producer Raj B and producer/rapper Ting, Runninzz FM is your one stop shop for everything from the latest hip-hop beats to old-school jungle classics and everything in between.
As versatile as they are, it's as a hip-hop collective that Runninzz FM really shine. Braxton brilliantly complements Raj B's chilling underground beats with Ting's thundering basslines, applying his own ambient grooves for a repetitively beautiful mix that brings out the best bits of all three producers. Stuck in a chilled out time warp during this "just turn the BPM up as high as it will go" era they may be, but when it comes to Northampton they provide a breath of alternative fresh air that is so vitally needed
