Owen Kimberlee-Penrice: an incredible new inductee into the Northampton folk scene

Having recently moved to the county from Torquay, sublime singer-songwriter Owen Kimberlee-Penrice looks set to take Northamptonshire by storm in the next few years. He released his debut EP on Herons Music last October and it literally glows with Bon Iver-esque beauty. Not just your average over-regurgitated folk, Penrice has a more soulful, atmospheric sheen that plays tenderly across the heartstrings. He clearly sounds like a man trying to break away from the generic folk outfit, and if he chooses to continue along this path I reckon he could give even some of our most established guitarists a run for their money.
