Guide To Guitar Greatness: the top ten guitar pop songs for 27 Feb

I'm fed up of reading everywhere that guitar bands are to "much of a risk" this and "just aren't selling" that and, as I think the guitar is the best instrument ever, I've compiled a list of the top ten rock / indie / folk / punk / blues / metal / reggae / anything else with a guitar tunes from relatively unknown acts that I've been dancing to this week to give all those people a kick up the rump and prove there is still good mainstream guitar music out there:

10. Grimes - Genesis (re-entry)
That intro, ugh!!!!! so good!!!!!

9. Willis Earl Beal - Evening's Kiss (down 2)
Music pure and simple without all the fancy bits getting the way.

8. White Rabbits - Heavy Metal (new)
Just a fun, head bopping, indie band that you can shake yourself out to. Enjoyment = 100%

7. Jagwar Ma - Come Save Me (up 2)
Getting great support from 6 Music and a wicked dancey tune.

6. Jake Bugg - Trouble Town (down 1)
I'm in love with this unbelievably strong singer/songwriter.

5. Ryan Keen - Thank You (down 3)
I reckon Sheeran might have chosen a support act better than him (and that's saying something).

4. Spector - Chevy Thunder (up 1)
The best upbeat song around at the moment.

3. Katzenjammer - I Will Dance (down 2)
What a video! And what a brilliant track as well.

2. Born Gold - Lawn Knives (new)
Electro-infused rock from an interesting new band, also a complete and utter tune.

1. Polica - Lay Your Cards Out (new)
These guys are the definition of mesmirising and that album must sound immense on vinyl.
