It's Gonna Get Louder

DJ Fresh (remember him from Gold Dust) has made this new song called Louder with Sian Evans' vocals. The original is incredible on its own but the dubstep remix by Doctor P and Flux Pavillion is amazing.

From the pumping intro you just know this is huge. And the middle more than lives up. It's a mess of electronic madness that could never really have been produced by just the one DJ. Three may be a crowd but if this is what that crowd's raving too I couldn't care less.

The jerky semi-quavers followed by a buzzing minim may be a bit tame but it doesn't last too long. Check me out getting all nerdy with the terminology. If you don't understand that's where it goes du-du-du-du-du-du-du-du-du-du-du-du-du-du-daaaaa (no that's not my written impression of Bust Dem Up).

Then it builds up to this bit where the breaks come off and it sounds like a wobble board has been shoved throught a synthesiser, shoved on the dodgyest vinyl disk ever and scratched half to death by a DJ-cum-Dalek. Crazy!

The DJs are working together in unity but having a face off at the same time. That's really what I love about the remix: it's got the flowing harmonies of Doctor P and then the wild cranks of Flux Pavillion over the pop melodies of DJ Fresh. It's mean and angry and nasty but that doesn't really go with this Summery weather we've been having. Save the track for Rocktober. But it doesn't really matter when you play it, it's awesome nonetheless.
