Decibels: Northampton's finest electro fivesome

Metronomy had better watch their backs because Decibels just emerged onto the scene. The melodic indie electro band use keyboards and a laptop to create music that looks cool, calm and chilled on the outside but, once you investigate deeper, has really got some bite. Totally unique, mind-blowingly immense and beautifully rustic - Decibels look set for massive feats in 2012.

Despite having kept pretty quiet in the rest of the UK for the majority of the year, Huw Stephens recently made them his tip of the week; they were played on every local BBC station across the country, he opened his podcast with them and now even Beat Connection are claiming to be fans by performing with them live for Christmas. Mark my words, with the ambiance of Rubber Dinghy Rapids and the party atmosphere of Francisco's House, our computerised lovelies are going to take the next couple of years by storm.
